Basketball Recap: Bishop Stang Comes Up Short

Bishop Stang was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 53-52 heartbreaker at the hands of the Wareham Vikings. If the Spartans were looking for revenge after losing 74-56 to them when the teams met back in February of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Bishop Stang's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Wareham, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Looking ahead, Bishop Stang will be playing at home against Martha's Vineyard Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Martha's Vineyard Regional knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Bishop Stang likes a good challenge. As for Wareham, they will head out on the road to take on Apponequet Regional at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
