Basketball Recap: Mitchell Takes a Loss

Mitchell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 40th straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by The Classical Academy Titans 75-23. The Marauders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-12.

Despite the defeat, Mitchell saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Raul Moscoso posted no points along with five boards, four steals, and four blocks. The dominant performance gave Moscoso a new career-high in blocks.

Ky Walker was his usual excellent self, going 8-for-11 en route to 17 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists for The Classical Academy. Walker has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Wilson Grothe was another key player, putting up seven points along with seven boards and six steals.

Mitchell's loss dropped their record down to 0-17. As for The Classical Academy, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-2.

Mitchell wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 46-27 defeat against Sierra on the 11th. As for The Classical Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-47 victory against Sand Creek on the 11th.
