Football Game Preview: Athens Red Hawks vs. Bloomfield Hills Black Hawks

The Athens Red Hawks will face off against the Bloomfield Hills Black Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Athens has given up an average of 33.8 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Athens is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Friday. They received a blow as they fell 40-21 to North Farmington. While losing is never fun, the Red Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 311th, while the Raiders are ranked 154th).

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Grayson Conrad, who picked up 92 receiving yards and one TD. Andrew Dunlap was another key passer, throwing for 218 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bloomfield Hills, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They blew past Pontiac 38-0 on Friday. Considering the Black Hawks' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Athens' defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Bloomfield Hills, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.

Athens came out on top in a nail-biter against Bloomfield Hills in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, sneaking past 28-25. Do the Red Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Black Hawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
