Football Game Preview: Rowlett Eagles vs. Wylie East Raiders

The Rowlett Eagles will take on the Wylie East Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Rowlett comes in on three and Wylie East on seven.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Rowlett and Lakeview Centennial meet (six straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Eagles came out on top against the Patriots by a score of 17-7. 17 seems to be a good number for the Eagles as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Samuel Loera continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 76 yards and two scores, while also throwing for 159 yards on 14 of 27 attempts. 105 of Loera's passing yards were hauled in by Micah Pearson.

Meanwhile, Wylie East took their matchup on Thursday with ease, bagging a 44-15 victory over Naaman Forest. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won five contests by 29 points or more so far this season.

Rowlett now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Wylie East, their win bumped their record up to 7-0.

Rowlett took a serious blow against Wylie East when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 49-0. Thankfully for the Eagles, Howard Fisher IV (who threw for 311 yards and four TDs while picking up 12.0 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 40 yards and one touchdown) won't be suiting up this time.
