Basketball Recap: Make It Ten in a Row for Munday

Munday came tearing into Friday's match with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 39.1 points) and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Knox City Greyhounds with a sharp 70-46 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 67-44 back in January.

Leading Munday to victory were Jariyis Williams and Mance Phillips. Williams dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds, while Phillips went 10 for 15 on his way to 22 points. That's the most points Phillips has posted since back in February of 2024. Caisen Lee was another key player, putting up 12 points and six assists.

Munday pushed their record up to 22-5 with the victory, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.1 points per game. As for Knox City, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-13.

Coincidentally, Munday and Knox City will both be playing Harrold the next time they take the court. Munday will host Harrold at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Knox City will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th.
