Basketball Recap: South Central Rebels vs. Corydon Central Panthers
A win for South Central just wasn't in the cards on Tuesday as the squad wasn't able to take the lead at any point. They lost 63-40 to the Corydon Central Panthers. The defeat continues a trend for the Rebels in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost six in a row.
Josie Vaughn had a dynamite game for Corydon Central, almost dropping a double-double on 21 points and nine assists. That's the most assists Vaughn has posted since back in November of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Murphy, who had 14 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals.
South Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
South Central will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against West Washington at 7:00 p.m. As for Corydon Central, they will take on Borden in a tournament on Friday. Corydon Central will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak dating back to last season alive.
