Basketball Recap: Herrin Takes a Loss

Herrin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 51-46 heartbreaker at the hands of the Johnston City Indians. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

Herrin's defeat dropped their record down to 9-19. As for Johnston City, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Herrin will challenge Carbondale at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Carbondale will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Herrin surely won't give up without a fight. As for Johnston City, they will square off against Century at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
