Yazoo City was handed a 16-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Murrah Mustangs, sneaking past 9-8. This was a revenge game for the Indians: when they faced off against the Mustangs back in February, they had to take a 11-9 defeat.

Jeremarione Tate and Jeremy McCoy did most of the damage at the plate: Tate scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3, while McCoy scored two runs while going 4-for-4. That's the most runs McCoy has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Melvin Robinson, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-4.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Yazoo City kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Yazoo City's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Murrah, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Yazoo City didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 19-0 defeat against Humphreys County on the 21st. As for Murrah, they will challenge Hazlehurst at 1:14 p.m. on Thursday.
