Softball Recap: Nathan Hale Comes Up Short

Nathan Hale lost against Garfield back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Nathan Hale Raiders lost 20-6 to the Garfield Bulldogs. The Raiders' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row dating back to last season.

Ainslie Smith was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Fialdini, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

Nathan Hale's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Garfield, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Coming up, Nathan Hale will face off against Eastside Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Eastside Catholic is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season. As for Garfield, they will take on Seattle Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Garfield is facing Seattle Prep at the right time seeing as Seattle Prep is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
