After a string of four wins, Starr's Mill's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the Woodward Academy War Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the War Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 last Thursday.

While Starr's Mill ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-18.

Ember Ness paced Starr's Mill's offense, picking up nine kills. Ness got some help from Katie Gutshall and her eight assists. Sammie Brady controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Starr's Mill's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Woodward Academy, their victory was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-0.

Coming up, Starr's Mill will challenge East Coweta at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Woodward Academy, they will venture away from home to square off against North Forsyth at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
