Basketball Recap: Marathon Takes a Loss

Marathon was the 76-57 winner over Rib Lake when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Marathon Red Raiders were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 55-54 to the Rib Lake Redmen. The Red Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Marathon's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Rib Lake, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Marathon will head out on the road to square off against Stratford at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Stratford knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Marathon likes a good challenge. As for Rib Lake, they will be home for the holidays to greet Athens at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Rib Lake is facing Athens at the right time seeing as Athens is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
