Volleyball Recap: Coventry Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Coventry waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Ravenna Ravens as they made off with a 3-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Coventry was: they took every set by at least 14 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-7, 25-10.

Piper Philips went supernova, getting nine digs and seven aces. That's the most digs she has posted since back in September. Another player making a difference was Brooke Amedio, who had four aces and three digs.

They weren't the only good servers: Coventry was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 13 consecutive matches.

Coventry's win bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Ravenna, they are on an 18-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-20.

Coventry has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against St. Vincent-St. Mary on the 8th. As for Ravenna, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Field on the 9th.
