Basketball Game Preview: Concord Spiders vs. Central Cabarrus Vikings

Concord hasn't had much luck against Central Cabarrus recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Concord Spiders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Central Cabarrus Vikings at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Concord's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups.

On Tuesday, Concord beat Northwest Cabarrus 77-64.

Meanwhile, Central Cabarrus came up short against Robinson on Tuesday and fell 65-53. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 250th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 79th).

Concord pushed their record up to 15-8 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.0 points over those games. As for Central Cabarrus, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-11.

Concord came up short against Central Cabarrus in their previous matchup back in January, falling 71-58. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Central Cabarrus' Kevonta' Martin, who dropped a double-double with 27 points and 11 rebounds.
