Basketball Recap: Mahanoy Area Extends Road Winning Streak to 21

Mahanoy Area extended their road winning streak to 21 games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Jace Yedsena. The Mahanoy Area Golden Bears took their match on Friday with ease, bagging a 73-46 victory over the Panther Valley Panthers thanks in part to Yedsena, who went 13 for 22 en route to 37 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in blocks (three).

Tanner Zawada was another key player, shooting 5-for-7 from beyond the arc and dropping a double-double on 19 points and 11 assists. The game was his sixth in a row with at least ten points.

Panther Valley lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Daniel Wehr, who posted nine points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan FIsher, who scored six points and eight rebounds.

Mahanoy Area's win bumped their record up to 16-0. As for Panther Valley, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season.

Mahanoy Area has already played their next match, a 58-32 victory against North Schuylkill on the 21st. As for Panther Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-50 win against Pine Grove on the 21st.
