Baseball Game Preview: Frontier Cougars vs. Beallsville Blue Devils

For the second straight game, Frontier will face off against Beallsville. The Cougars will be taking part in a tournament against the Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Frontier has three straight victories, Beallsville has 12 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Frontier had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 20-run drubbing they dealt Beallsville on Thursday. The Cougars blew past the Blue Devils 21-1. With that win, the Cougars brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Austin Kephart was a standout: he went a perfect 5-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Those five hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Powers, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with five stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI.

Frontier always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .591. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Beallsville only posted an OBP of .278.

Beallsville's loss dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Frontier, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
