Volleyball Recap: Lee's Summit Takes a Loss

Lee's Summit was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lee's Summit West Titans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Titans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Lee's Summit started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-15, 25-18, 25-21.

Despite the defeat, Lee's Summit saw an underclassman step up: freshman Reese Hubbard had 13 digs and two aces.

Lee's Summit's loss dropped their record down to 7-24. As for Lee's Summit West, their victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-4.

Lee's Summit has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Blue Valley North on the 15th. As for Lee's Summit West, they will head out to square off against Lee's Summit North at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
