Basketball Recap: Ayden Burdine's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Deer over Founders Classical Academy

On Thursday, the Deer Antlers were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 59-54 to Founders Classical Academy. The Antlers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Deer's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ayden Burdine, who posted 12 points and six rebounds. Mason Guinnip was another key player, putting up 11 points and eight boards.

Deer's loss dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Founders Classical Academy, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 2-5.

Deer has already played their next match, a 95-74 defeat against Jasper on the 3rd. As for Founders Classical Academy, they will challenge Deer at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
