Basketball Recap: Lavoris Smith's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Macon County over Chattahoochee County

Macon County was the 72-57 winner over Chattahoochee County when they last played one another last Thursday, but their luck changed this time around. The Macon County Bulldogs fell just short of the Chattahoochee County Panthers by a score of 49-47 on Wednesday.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lavoris Smith, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten boards. That's the most points Smith has posted since back in December of 2024. Joshua Fulks was another key player, going 5-for-11 on his way to 10 points and seven rebounds.

Macon County's loss dropped their record down to 19-5. As for Chattahoochee County, they have been performing well recently as they've won 14 of their last 17 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season.

Macon County has already played their next contest, an 80-61 victory against Central on the 13th. As for Chattahoochee County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-63 defeat against Taylor County on the 13th.
