Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Iymani Coleman and Lily Brown Lead Pinnacle Classical Academy to Victory

After losing to Challenger the last time they met, Pinnacle Classical Academy decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Eagles came out on top against the Firebirds by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday.

Pinnacle Classical Academy got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the first set. The final score came out to 32-30, 22-25, 25-23, 25-17.

Leading Pinnacle Classical Academy to victory were Lily Brown and Iymani Coleman. Brown had 13 digs and five aces, while Coleman had five blocks and one assist. Brown has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last six times she's played.

They weren't the only good server: Pinnacle Classical Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 19 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces every time they've taken the court this season.

When it comes to explaining why Challenger lost, don't look at Kate Hightower. Despite the final result, she had 16 digs and three aces.

Pinnacle Classical Academy's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Challenger, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coincidentally, Pinnacle Classical Academy and Challenger will both be playing Lake Lure Classical Academy the next time they take the court. The Firebirds will head out to face the Raptors at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Eagles will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
