Basketball Game Preview: Charles City Panthers vs. Patrick Henry Patriots

The Charles City Panthers will venture away from home to face off against the Patrick Henry Patriots at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Patrick Henry took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Charles City, who comes in off a win.

Charles City played against Carver College and Career Academy and won via forfeit.

Patrick Henry is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Friday. They were dealt a 70-35 loss at the hands of Hanover. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 310th, while the Hawks are ranked 98th).

Charles City's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-6. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 21.3 points per game. As for Patrick Henry, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.

Charles City came up short against Patrick Henry when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 45-35. Can Charles City avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
