Baseball Recap: Rancho Comes Up Short

Rancho and Bonanza squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Rancho had to settle for second. They lost 13-5 to the Bengals. The Rams were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bengals earlier this season, when they won 9-1.

Ethan Nelson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Rancho is 3-1 when Nelson posts two or more runs, but 13-17 otherwise.

This is the second loss in a row for Rancho and nudges their season record down to 16-18. As for Bonanza, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 16-18.

Rancho does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bonanza, they will take on Southeast Career Tech at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bengals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Roadrunners have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season.
