Basketball Recap: Clover Skates Past Powdersville with Ease

The Clover Blue Eagles humbled the Powdersville Patriots with a 67-23 victory. The Blue Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 44 points or more this season.

Clover can attribute much of their success to Najeh Potts, who made all 5 shots he took for 14 points. Potts is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last five games he's played. Jayden Parks was another key player, putting up nine points.

Clover smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in three consecutive contests.

Clover's record is now 5-1. As for Powdersville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clover will take on West Mecklenburg at 8:15 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Eagles will need to watch out since the Hawks have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Powdersville, they will welcome Fountain Inn at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Patriots will be up against the Fury's rather soft defense (which has allowed 60.17 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
