Basketball Game Preview: Tabernacle Christian Rams vs. Shining Light Baptist Academy Sharks

The Tabernacle Christian Rams will face off against the Shining Light Baptist Academy Sharks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Friday, Tabernacle Christian was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 31-30 to Cornerstone Christian Academy.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Shining Light Baptist Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top against Mountain View Christian Academy by a score of 43-35 on Tuesday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Sharks' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 591st in North Carolina, while the Mustangs are ranked 256th in South Carolina).

Tabernacle Christian better keep an eye on Lucy Haywood. She was instrumental in Shining Light Baptist Academy's win, going 7 of 16 en route to 15 points and three blocks. Rachel Nava-Gonzalez was another key player, putting up 13 points and four steals.

Tabernacle Christian has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Shining Light Baptist Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 2-6.

Tabernacle Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Shining Light Baptist Academy when the teams last played back in December of 2024, winning 45-32. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tabernacle Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
