Baseball Recap: Saddleback Wins Going Away Against Santa Ana Valley

Saddleback had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Santa Ana Valley on Tuesday. Saddleback was the clear victor by a 9-2 margin over Santa Ana Valley. The result was nothing new for the Roadrunners, who have now won four games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Joaquin Cornejo was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Wright, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Saddleback always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Santa Ana Valley only posted an OBP of .296.

Saddleback now has a winning record of 6-5-1. As for Santa Ana Valley, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Saddleback will face off against Magnolia at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Santa Ana Valley, they will take on Bolsa Grande at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Santa Ana Valley is facing Bolsa Grande at the right time seeing as Bolsa Grande is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
