Baseball Game Preview: Phoenix Christian Cougars vs. Lincoln Prep Lightning

The Phoenix Christian Cougars will face off against the Lincoln Prep Lightning at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Phoenix Christian knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Lincoln Prep likes a good challenge.

Phoenix Christian's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Desert Christian 10-0. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.

Kevin Palafox was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Four bases. while going 1-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. Zach Brigowatz was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Lincoln Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 12-2 to Veritas Prep.

Lincoln Prep saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cash Luce, who went 2-for-4 with one double. That double marked the first that Luce hit this season.

Lincoln Prep's loss dropped their record down to 1-4-1. As for Phoenix Christian, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.

Lincoln Prep's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Phoenix Christian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .408. It's a different story for Lincoln Prep, though, as they've only averaged .202. Will they be able to contain Phoenix Christian's hitters?
