Softball Recap: Cordova Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Cordova had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They came out on top against the Hubbertville Lions by a score of 8-5.

Mia Vance was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Laila Mahaffey was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Cordova hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive contests.

Cordova's record now sits at 23-16. As for Hubbertville, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-9.

Cordova will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Dora at 12:00 p.m. As for Hubbertville, they will be playing at home against Hackleburg at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
