Softball Recap: JW North Now 8-1 over Last Nine Games

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only JW North walked away with it. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Western Christian Fighting Lancers 9-8. This was payback for the Huskies, who suffered a 14-4 loss the last time these two teams met.

Anela Kinnevey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and two unearned) runs on 11 hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Audrina Camacho, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Xochitl Frias was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: JW North kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in eight consecutive games.

JW North has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 19-10 record this season. As for Western Christian, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-10.

As of now, neither JW North nor the Fighting Lancers have any future games scheduled.
