Basketball Recap: Clinton Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Tupelo

On Friday, Clinton faced Tupelo in a battle between two of the state's top teams. 2025 welcomed the Clinton Arrows with a 67-41 loss courtesy of the Tupelo Golden Wave. The loss continues a trend for the Arrows in their matchups with the Golden Wave: they've now lost four in a row.

Clinton's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caitlin White, who posted ten points along with five rebounds and five steals. The dominant performance gave White a new career-high in steals. Shunta Caston was another key player, putting up six points.

Clinton's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-4. As for Tupelo, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 17-0.
