Mayo and Austin are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2016, but likely not for long. The Spartans will venture away from home to face off against the Packers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mayo will be strutting in after a victory while Austin will be coming in after a defeat.

While Mayo's win against Winona wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Spartans had just enough and edged out the Hawks 2-0. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Austin and Century had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Packers took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers on Tuesday. Packers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Panthers since Tuesday.

Hadyn Quitmeyer was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

Mayo's win bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Austin, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.

Everything went Mayo's way against Austin in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, as Mayo made off with an 11-1 victory. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Packers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
