Softball Recap: Elyria Catholic Finds Playoff Glory Versus Northwest

It's playoff time, and Elyria Catholic had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past the Northwest Indians 12-6 on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won 16 games by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Hannah Brooks, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Jessica Conner was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.

Elyria Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northwest only posted an OBP of .344.

The victory made it two in a row for Elyria Catholic and bumps their season record up to 24-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Northwest, their loss dropped their record down to 4-12.

Looking ahead, Elyria Catholic will take on Lakeview at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. Northwest does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
