Basketball Recap: Meigs County Comes Up Short

Meigs County lost against Gatlinburg-Pittman back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Meigs County Tigers came up short against the Gatlinburg-Pittman Highlanders, falling 61-39. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Gatlinburg-Pittman got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Maliyah Glasper out in front who shot 55% from the field on her way to 16 points in addition to six assists and six boards. Another player making a difference was Chloe Mejias, who went 8-for-15 to rack up 17 points and seven rebounds.

Meigs County's loss dropped their record down to 20-12. As for Gatlinburg-Pittman, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 24-11.

Meigs County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Gatlinburg-Pittman, they will challenge Summertown at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Gatlinburg-Pittman's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven matchups.
