Baseball Game Preview: Ellicott Thunderhawks vs. Colorado Springs Christian Lions

Ellicott hasn't had much luck against Colorado Springs Christian recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Thunderhawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lions. Ellicott has given up an average of 11.9 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Saturday, Ellicott came up short against Clear Creek and fell 12-7.

Meanwhile, Colorado Springs Christian came tearing into Thursday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Panthers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lions have posted since April 1st.

Colorado Springs Christian got a great performance from Micah Davies as he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Austin Leigh was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Ben Garl was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Ellicott's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13-1. As for Colorado Springs Christian, their win bumped their record up to 6-10.
