Basketball Recap: Plattsburgh Hornets vs. Moriah Vikings
If the Plattsburgh Hornets were riding high off their 82-36 takedown of the AuSable Valley Patriots last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Plattsburgh was just a bucket shy of victory on Saturday and fell 70-69 to the Vikings. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Moriah to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cooper Allen, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Allen is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 20 or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase McGinness, who scored 17 points.
Plattsburgh's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Moriah, their victory was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Plattsburgh will take on the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Moriah, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Sentinels at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th.
