Basketball Recap: Killian Falls Despite Big Games from Derico Taylor and Christian Torres

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Killian can now relate to. They took a 64-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) Stallions on Wednesday. The Cougars lost against the Stallions in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 72-26 score last time.

Christian Torres and Derico Taylor certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Torres dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds, while Taylor posted 19 points. The game was Torres' tenth in a row with at least ten points.

Killian's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Somerset Academy (Silver Palms), they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Killian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Somerset Academy (Silver Palms), they will challenge Keys Gate at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Keys Gate is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.5 points per game this season.
