Basketball Recap: Richwoods Comes Up Short

Richwoods was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were beaten by the Kankakee Kays 77-48. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 135th, while the Kays are ranked 29th).

Richwoods' defeat dropped their record down to 16-12. As for Kankakee, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Richwoods will face off against Urbana at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kankakee, they will challenge Waubonsie Valley at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Kankakee knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matchups -- so hopefully Waubonsie Valley likes a good challenge.
