Basketball Recap: Memphis Home Education Association vs. Harding Academy Lions
Memphis Home Education Association was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 36-31 heartbreaker at the hands of the Harding Academy Lions. While losing is never fun, Memphis Home Education Association can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 340th, while Harding Academy is ranked 139th).
Harding Academy found their leader in sophomore Brynne Miller, who went 7 of 15 en route to 14 points and five steals. Miller has been hot for a while, having posted three or more steals the last 13 times she's played. Mia Thompson was another key player, putting up four points and five boards.
Memphis Home Education Association's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Harding Academy, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 14-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Memphis Home Education Association will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on St. Agnes Academy at 6:00 p.m. on February 4th. As for Harding Academy, they will face off against Northpoint Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
