Baseball Recap: Lamar Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Lamar easily dispatched Rye last Monday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Thunder fell just short of the Alamosa Mean Moose by a score of 11-9 on Friday. The Thunder were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mean Moose apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2021.

Alex Santos made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Gabe Jacobs also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Lamar's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-3. As for Alamosa, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season.

While Lamar had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
