Basketball Game Preview: Godley Wildcats vs. Kennedale Wildcats

The Godley Wildcats will head out to square off against the Kennedale Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Godley took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 55-27 win over Caddo Mills. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Kennedale waltzed into their match two weeks ago with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 56-46 victory over the Eagles.

Godley's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 19.7 points per game. As for Kennedale, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-12 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Godley against Kennedale when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 57-29 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Godley since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
