Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial came tearing into Friday's contest with 22 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Carroll Tigers by a score of 7-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-0 back in March.

Meredith Cavazos spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on ten hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Parker Malone, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Desi Garcia, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carroll struck out eight times.
