The St. Bernard Saints will take on the Plainfield Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Plainfield took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on St. Bernard, who comes in off a win.
St. Bernard took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They blew past Griswold 13-3. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Saints' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Anabelle Wenzel made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Kiara Kidd and Izzie Kobyluck did most of the damage at the plate: Kidd got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Kobyluck went 3-for-4 with three doubles, three RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI Kobyluck has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Milani Hayer, who went 3-for-4 with three runs.
St. Bernard always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .550. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Griswold only posted an OBP of .250.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Plainfield took on Bacon Academy on Tuesday. The Panthers lost 16-1 to the Bobcats. The Panthers have struggled against the Bobcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Plainfield's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for St. Bernard, their victory bumped their record up to 4-12.
