Basketball Recap: Shawnee Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Cadence Wilson and Ava Gadson

Shawnee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 44-33 to the Memorial Roughriders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Indians of the 51-25 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, Shawnee had strong showings from Ava Gadson, who posted 12 points and six boards, and Cadence Wilson, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds.

Shawnee's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Memorial, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-14 record this season.

Shawnee wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 48-42 loss against Coldwater on the 4th. As for Memorial, they have also already played their next contest, a 63-30 defeat against St. Henry on the 4th.
