Baseball Recap: Jefferson Continues Home Dominance on Saturday

Jefferson entered their tilt with GVCS Broadfording on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the Lions. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 1-0 on Saturday.

Jefferson got a great performance from Liam Sager as he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Sager has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jefferson saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Liam Healey, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Blake Kutcher also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Jefferson's victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for GVCS Broadfording, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.

Coming up, Jefferson will host Hampshire at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for GVCS Broadfording, they will head out to take on Allegany at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
