Softball Recap: Blue Mountain Wins High-Profile Matchup Against Richford

Blue Mountain faced Richford in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Bucks' pitcher stepped up to hand the Falcons a 7-0 shutout. Considering the Bucks have won seven contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Not much got past Kaylee Hamlett, who gave up just a hit to keep Richford off the board.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ava Kingsbury, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Maya Christy was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

The win was the third in a row for Blue Mountain, bringing their record up to 10-4. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Richford, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.

Blue Mountain will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Falcons: the pair will be back at it again later today.
