Basketball Recap: Hickory Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Hickory Christian Academy lost against Statesville Christian back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Hickory Christian Academy Knights received a blow as they fell 35-19 to the Statesville Christian Lions. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Statesville Christian found their leader in sophomore Addison Layne, who posted eight points along with seven boards and five assists. Those five assists set a new season-high mark for Layne. Stephanie McDonald was another key player, putting up eight points and five steals.

Hickory Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Statesville Christian, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.

Hickory Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 51-30 loss against South Charlotte on the 30th. As for Statesville Christian, they will challenge Salem Baptist Christian at 5:30 p.m. on February 4th.
