Wesson strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They put the hurt on the Amite County Trojans with a sharp 49-26 victory. Considering the Cobras have won five matchups by more than 22 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Among those leading the charge was Damarion Smith, who rushed for 55 yards and one TD. He didn't just play on offense: he also forced one fumble, made four total tackles, and defended one pass.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Wesson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 251 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 164 rushing yards in four consecutive contests.

When it comes to explaining why Amite County lost, don't look at Marquavius McGhee. Despite the final result, he threw for 235 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 48 yards. Kemauri Thompson was another key player, rushing for 62 yards and one score on only eight carries.

Wesson's win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Amite County, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-2.
