The home team had won the previous three meetings between Shelton and Hamden, and Shelton kept the tradition alive. The Gaels walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Green Dragons on Wednesday. For the Gaels, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 win the Green Dragons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Shelton had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-21, 28-26, 25-16.

Leading Shelton to victory were Nicole Zotova and Emmy Reilly. Zotova had 36 digs, while Reilly had 11 digs and two aces. Those 36 digs gave Zotova a new career-high. Jesseca Zotova was another key player, getting ten digs and two aces.

They weren't the only good server: Shelton was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. They served one more ace than Hamden's also-impressive total of 11.

The victory got Shelton back to even at 3-3. As for Hamden, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Shelton has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Lauralton Hall on the 12th. As for Hamden, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Sheehan on the 11th.
