Volleyball Recap: Bryan Station Defenders vs. Great Crossing Warhawks

Bryan Station was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Great Crossing Warhawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warhawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in September.

Bryan Station wouldn't go down easily and took Great Crossing into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-21, 23-25, 25-27, 15-13.

Despite the defeat, Bryan Station saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Sophia Newman had nine digs and three aces.

Great Crossing got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jenna Browning out in front who had 14 digs and two aces. What's more, Browning racked up six assists, the most she's had over her last six matches. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Walls, who had five digs and two aces.

Bryan Station's loss dropped their record down to 14-17. As for Great Crossing, their win ended a five-match drought on the road and puts them at 21-12.
