Baseball Recap: Spring Creek's Win Ends 12-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Spring Creek hadn't beaten Eastern Wayne on the road since April 13, 2017 but that history sure didn't bother them on Tuesday. The Gators blew past the Warriors 15-4. The Gators might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by 11 runs or more this season.

Braden Bell made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He is becoming a predictor of Spring Creek's success: when he allows at most two hits the team is 3-1 (and 1-5 when he doesn't). Bell was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 3-for-5.

In other batting news, Landon Hines was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Camden Jones, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Spring Creek's victory ended a 12-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-6. As for Eastern Wayne, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Spring Creek will welcome Princeton at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Eastern Wayne, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Beddingfield at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bruins have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.29 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of.
