Football Recap: Five Straight Home Wins for Leo

Leo lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Columbia City, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's contest. The Lions put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 30-7 victory on Friday. With the Lions ahead 23-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Paul Woods went supernova, rushing for 59 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only five carries. Those 59 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Leo's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.8 points on average over those games. As for Columbia City, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Leo will square off against DeKalb at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions will need to watch out since the Barons have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests. As for Columbia City, they will take on Norwell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will be up against the Knights' rather soft defense (which has allowed 36.38 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
