The Forney Jackrabbits will head out on the road to face off against the Tyler Legacy Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Forney has three straight wins, Tyler Legacy has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Forney gave up the first points last Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They won a game that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Rockwall 48-47. Things were looking grim for the Jackrabbits in the first quarter (they were down by 22) but they stormed back to get the contest.

Javian Osborne produced another solid performance rushing for 210 yards and four touchdowns. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 163 rushing yards. Nelson Peterson Jr. was another key player, throwing for 186 yards and a pair of TDs on only 17 passes.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Forney was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 250 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 165 rushing yards in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Tyler Legacy lost 39-15 to Rockwall on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 191st, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 35th).
Forney will need to focus on slowing down DJ Owens, one of several Tyler Legacy players who made an impact when they last played. He picked up 101 receiving yards and one score. Pearl Jackson handled things on the ground, rushing for 124 yards.
Tyler Legacy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Forney, their record is now 6-2.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Forney has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 226 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Tyler Legacy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 186.8 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything went Forney's way against Tyler Legacy when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as Forney made off with a 40-14 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Raiders' Zabryan Hood, who picked up 169 receiving yards and one touchdown.
